リピート（シャドウィング）しましょう。
20分くらい前から来て、先に音声ファイルを聴き始めてもOKです。

とりあえずみんなで元気よく声に出して言ってみましょう！

ノートカードにストーリーが書いて置いてあります。
先にもらって単語やストーリーを調べておきましょう。

書きとめるノートや辞書を用意してご参加ください。


*全て英語ですが、大体簡単なことの繰り返しです。
分からなければ、周りの人の様子を見て判断しましょう。

初めてで自信がない方は、周りの見学席でもいいですよ。
また、早めにいらっしゃらないと、席が埋まってしまう場合があります。

英語自体はビギナー向けではありませんが、日本語で
解説しながら、少しずつ一緒に楽しんでいきたいと思います。

学校ではありませんので、気軽にご参加ください。
細かい文法の説明もしません。　まず読んで、頭から簡単に訳してみます。
そして、日本語の翻訳本を参考までに読みます。

魔法の世界の独特の名前や言葉、そしてイギリスらしい表現などから
結構日常的に使えるフレーズまで、いろいろ出てくると思います。

ハリーの物語に初めて触れる方も大歓迎。

日本語でも英語でも、本を持っている、読んだことがあるという方、
また、映画では観たことがあるという方も、今一度ストーリーを
思い返しておくとより一層楽しめると思います。

今夜１０時からは、スーパービギナーの英会話アクティビティです。

英語が超初心者レベルのみなさん向けです。辞書などをどんどん使って構いませんから、
自信のなくても英語をやり直したい方ぜひ参加してみてください。

レッスンはすべて英語で進みます。
日本語は禁止ですが、本当に基礎的なフレーズなどを練習し、わかりやすく
ゆっくりと説明していきます。

英語で質問できないよーという場合は、Google翻訳などを使って訳したものを
読んだり、ローカルチャットにコピペしてみてもいいですよ。
ただ、基本は声に出すこと。ボイスです。

今までとまったく違う形のサイトです。中に入るにはまずアカウントの作成が必要です。以前にNingでもサイプリスのメンバーだった方は、トップページにあるリンクから一度パスワードの再発行の手続きをする必要があります。以前に登録したメルアドで手続きしてください。
また、新しく登録する場合、必ずSLのアバター名（大文字小文字すべて同じ様に）で登録してください。本名は必要ありません。
ログインすると、まず一般向けのコミュニティセンターページに行きます。もしあなたがすでにセカンドライフメンバーでしたら画面上部のGroupsタブからFindGroupsを選び、「Cypris Chat SL Group」の横の「Join This Group」ボタンを押してください。
また今回、英語に自信がない方のために「Japanese/日本語」グループを作りました。この中でのみ日本語による投稿、質問なども受け付けます。もしよかったらこちらにも入ってみてください。

Cypris Villageのオフィシャルビデオができました！メンバーのみなさんと一緒に作った紹介用ビデオです。。
もっともっと直したいところやじっくりご案内したいところもたくさんありますが、プロフェッサーが監督、カメラマン、編集を担当して下さり完成しました。
初めは今までの活動を記録した思い出の写真の数々をスライドショーにしてあります。続いてプロフェッサーとメンバーがビレッジの紹介をしていきます。高解像度で動きながらの撮影だったので、ときどき動きがぎこちなくなっているところはご愛敬。
まだビレッジを訪れたことのない方も、なんとなく雰囲気がわかって頂けると思います！

I'm going to show you some areas in our new Cypris Village.


When you come to the Island, this is where you arrive. This is the Welcome Area.
It has information about our group, and lesson schedule. There is also a map which you can click and teleport to other areas in the village.



This is the Chat Ring where lessons take place.
Silver seat is for the tutor or a host of the discussion. The 12 brown seats are for learners with voice, members only. Blue seats at the back are for people with no voice, trouble with voice, and observers.




This is one of our new features. Game area. What you see in this picture is a horse rezzer which you can do horseback riding.

Feronymous先生はアメリカ出身で韓国の大学で教えていらっしゃいます。
とてもわかりやすく話して下さる素敵な先生ですよ。

In real life, my name is Michael Raymond. I was born in Michigan in the U.S.A., but I attended college in Kentucky, lived in California, Texas, and Georgia before doing my Master’s studies in Wisconsin.



Prior to coming to Korea, I had moved to Arizona for a couple years. I have been living and teaching English in Korea since June, 1997.

Currently, I teach in the Liberal Arts Department of Dongguk University, Gyeongju campus. I have a teaching certificate in English as a Second Language, and I have supplemented that with a CELTA certificate from the British Council in Seoul. My undergraduate degree is in Western Philosophy and French Language. My Master’s degree is in Religion.

I am the youngest of seven children, four sisters and two brothers. In real life, I enjoy the outdoors and ride my bike or hike as much as time will allow. I love animals and currently have two cats living with me. As for Second Life, I have only been a resident since January of this year, so I’m still learning how things work in the virtual world.

  

今回は先週から水曜日の夜を担当してくれることになったBashoさんのご紹介です。
以前から火曜の夜に一緒に参加していたのでご存知の方も多いでしょう。
オハイオ州在住で普段はインターネット関係のサポートセンターの仕事をしているそうです。
また結構日本通で、大学では日本の古典文学を学び、特に「更級日記」が大好きとの事。
下にある通り、Bashoの名前も松尾芭蕉から取ったということで、かなり日本文学に詳しい!!!
以前はバンドを組んでミュージシャンもやっていたクールガイです。
SLではモノづくりも楽しんでいるので、教えてほしいといえばきっと喜んで教えてくれますよ。

Hi! I'm Basho Singh and my real life name is Kane Naylor.



I'm an American living in Columbus, Ohio. I've been playing Second Life for a couple years now. I've been involved in English language instruction and tutoring at Chachat! and privately on my own land. I've recently begun sessions here at Cypris, so please join me Wednesdays at 6am SLT!

A little bit more about myself: I've been to college twice: the first time after graduation from high school and then more recently from 2003-2006. My first major was geology, then I studied classical studies (ancient Greece and Rome). When I returned to school in 2003 I studied Japanese and East Asian Languages and Literature and political science. I specialized in Heian period nikki, specifically "Sarashina nikki."
In real life I work as a help desk supervisor for an internet company. I help customers restore their internet connection, assist w/ security software, and troubleshoot other products my company provides.

I love to read, especially science fiction and history.
I also have a great love for music of all kinds and before attending college in 2003 I had performed in a few different bands as well as composed and recorded my own music. My music is a mix of rock, jazz and a lot of avant-garde.

I hope to see you often at Cypris, it's a great place with great people, and a lot of fun!

今回は、Cypris VillageオーナーでCypris Chat Englishのメインの先生、Professor Merrymanです。
Merryman先生は、アメリカのサンフランシスコ出身、現在は神戸在住で大学で英語を教えています。
以前English VillageにDuke先生と共にいらっしゃったのを覚えている方も多いでしょうね。
そして、二人がよりコンパクトな英語教育・学習コミュニティ作りを求めて独立し、出来たのがCypris Chatです。

Hi! My name is Professor Merryman or Mike McKay in real life. I live in Kobe. I am a part-time professor of English at Mukogawa Women's University and Kwansei Gakuin University (Kangaku).

I'm originaly from Anaheim, California but I tell everyone I am from San Francisco because that is where I moved to Japan from.
I've been living here since 1999 and I love living here. The food is great, it's safe, and there is enough work here for me to support my family.

What do I like to do in my free time?
I love to eat, drink, and sing...in that order. If I have any other time, I am usually playing jazz on my midi wind controller or building, chatting, or playing in Second Life.

I have taught at Berlitz for 6 years, and universities since 2004. I have taught over 30,000 students from ages 2 to 92. I am also TEFL and TESOL certified with a BS in eBusiness and an M.Ed. in technology.

I have just started taking students for private lessons. This is the first time I have agreed to teach privately in Second Life. If you are interested in me showing you how fun Second Life can be to learn English, please IM Mystie Slade and tell her you are interested in taking lessons.
I only teach Japanese speakers.

Hi, I'm J.P. DuQuette (DukeVan Acker in SL).

I'm an English teacher at Ritsumeikan University in Kyoto, Japan.
I'm also a doctoral student at Temple University Japan, an American university based in Philadelphia.

To me Second Life contains many opportunities for independent language learners and for language teachers as well.
It is safe, convenient and extremely affordable; it's is also a beautiful, creative and fun environment to work, study and play in.

I'm very interested in learning more about the people who come to Second Life to improve their English or other second languages, and I enjoy trying out new lesson plans and learning from Professor Merryman and the other teachers at Cypris Chat.

今日はメリ～マン教授のチャットボットをご紹介します。


When you go to our clubhouse, you will find Professor Merryman's chat bot standing there.

Cypris Village(サイプリス村)に入って左側の方にクラブハウスがあります。
その横にProfessor Merryman の人形が立っています。


This chat bot is programmed for you to learn communicate in English.
Just click it and type "Hi" or anything, you will get an immediate response!
And everytime you type something in the local chat, it will keep asking you questions!
これはチャットボットと言って、ローカルチャットでの会話ができる人形です。
タッチしてHiとかHow are you?とか、なんでもいいので話しかけてみてください。
すぐに返事が返ってきますよ。
基本的に何か質問してくるので、何か答えると、またそれに質問してきます。

The conversations can be really funny, interesting, and sometimes complicating.
If you find the questions too difficult to answer, just ask something simple again.
とても面白いのでぜひ試してみてね。
延々と続くので、訳が分からなくなったら、また簡単な質問でもしてみてください。
もう一度クリックすると終了するらしいです。。。

Well anyway, just try it. Talk to the bot! lol

ＳＬがRolling Restartし始めているので、影響しないといいですねぇ。  

単純に、英語で話しているのが楽しいってこと。
まだまだうまく言えないことがたくさんあるけれど、英語で会話しているとなんだか日常と違う自分を発見できる。
Haven't you ever felt like suddenly becoming somebody else when you are speaking another language?
I always do.

かっこいい表現ができた時、ちょっとうれしくなる。
新しい言葉を覚えて、それを実際に使っていく場面が、ここにはある。

世界からやってくる人たちの目的はひとつ。
「英語で会話したい！」 So what's stopping you?

[あの映画で使われていた、あの表現。。 分かるような気がするけど本当はどういう意味なんだろう。]
そんな疑問もどんどんぶつけてみてください。
教科書では習わない、学校では習うことのないような表現も覚えられちゃいます。

毎週火曜と木曜の夜１０時からのミーティングでは、最初の１時間程をレッスンに使い、その後アクティビティというゲームのようなことをします。
１１時３０分頃からは、ＳＬ内の面白そうな場所にみんなで旅立ちます。
どれも強制ではありません。

ネイティブのホンモノの先生たちが、また何か新しいことをこっそりたくらんでいます。


あ、そうそう。まるで初心者の人にはちょっと難しいです。はっきり言って。
でも、間違えても発言することを恐れないでください。
分からなければ尋ねる、とても大切です。
テキストは使いません。 ボイスは必須です。そして、タダ！です。
英語のブラッシュアップには最適ですよ。耳にも脳にもガンガン英語シャワーです！

でも一番大切なのは、「楽しむこと」。 英語を思い切り楽しみましょう！
